2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada has officially begun!
As a Regional Delegate from Ontario. I arrived in Toronto at 2:30,
At 6:30 pm we entered into the ‘ballroom name* at the Airport Holiday Inn in Toronto to attend the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada. I was feeling confident.
The party was amazing and so much fun!! I am so thanful so all of the things that were sponsored for us and couldn’t wait to use them!!
There was a good selection of high quality Oral B traveler’s toothbrushes specially monogrammed from Archer Dental because they care about our oral hygiene when we’re away from home competing for a crown.
Nuvango created a shareable moment center by offering up some designer clothes and a full length mirror. This is a girl party mainstay. Later in the week our ensemble will be making a visit to the Nuvango headquarters (Tuesday July 19)
There were free designer sunglasses from V.P.I. Canada, one pair for each regional delegate.
I found my pair of (https://www.vpicanada.ca/SUNGLASSES/style-1003/) for sale online for $28 plus shipping and handling. Thanks VPI Canada – I’ll make you proud.
Anyone can find the round frame vintage style sunglasses at VPI Canada sunglasses e-store, and there are over eight styles to choose from … these fit my face perfectly.
Rimmel London provided a surplus of products for the girls’ welcome bags. They set up a make-up station with lots of extras. A lot of fun happened here throughout the evening. Find the team on Instagram & Twitter: @rimmelllondoncan, and on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RimmelLondonCanada
Hashtagio is a Social Media Aggregator and User Generated Marketing Platform that was at the show collecting all our social media tagged with the #MissTeenageCanada2016 and then projecting it live at the party. Even better, they make a single feed URL to which our parents and friends can subscribe to follow along in real time as we experience all the different activities here in Toronto. And the mass of spontaneously issued images and text from all 65 delegates will be archived on this page in the Miss Teenage Canada main site and on the Miss Teen Canada Blog Network / Search for Miss Teenage Canada 2016.
Sam Dhutia from Sweets Canada was at the party doing chocolate tastings. Sam made a very informative and delicious chocolate tasting exhibit – after each sampling he generously gave out gourmet chocolate bars , and or edible flower chocolate bars, depending on each delegate’s individual preferences, as discovered during the tastings.
Sweets Canada is on Twitter @SweetsCanadaCA and so is their parent company Q Foods Canada which tweets from @QFoodsCanada
Sally Hansen provided products for gift bags and dispensed products (describe in detail) at a make-up station at the welcome party.

BRADLEE RYALL GOLF ACADEMY
Another fun exhibit at the Opening Night Sponsors’ Party was from Bradlee Ryall Golf Academy which teaches golf lessons at six golf courses west of Toronto.
On Weds July 20th we’re all going to the golf academy to play a one-hole golf game for two ladies golf jackets (which are prizes from SWING active wear) at the end of our group lessons on two different courses. Here at the party there was a live mini golf attraction set up for us to practice our putting.
At the party there was a bow and arrow (with a giant marshmallow on the pointy end) and we all took turns trying to hit a paper target that was setup in the ballroom. We’ll ALL be playing Archery Tag in Toronto at Archers Arena on Thursday July 21st 2016. On that night, look for the hashtag #archerytag.
BATA SHOE MUSEUM
We’ll be visiting the Bata Shoe Museum on Tuesday, July 19 at 11:30 a.m.
@batashoemuseum and they collect images marked #batashoemuseum

Delegates are especially advised to seek out and introduce themselves to Daphna and Karen Nussbaum from Storia PR in Toronto. These ladies are part of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada experience and will be retweeting and amplifying much of the media we make, everywhere we go.
I want to take the time to talk about my big sister Kirsi! She is honestly such an inspiration to me and always had and will be. I would never do pageants if it wasn’t for her and I am forever grateful for that! She is so gorgeous and kind hearted and is so amazing in every single way. She is so good at everything she does and she will always have an irreplaceable spot in my heart.
Even though we fight a lot! She is still someone I could call my best friend. We have a friendship I don’t have with any of my friends or any of my family. I look up to her so much and I will always be here for her no matter what happens and she’s the same way to me! She tries to act like my mother sometimes but at the end of the day we are really close and I couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime💕 Love you so much Kirsi💕 Continue reading
I thought I would tell you a little about myself. First off My name is Tiffany (my mom calls me sniffy, or sniff sniff or Tifferoni pepperoni…moms right lol) I just turned 13 back in April and I think I am the youngest contestant in the pageant this year.
I live in Northern Ontario Canada, with my mom and my sister Kirsi who is 15!!! Cool fact: Kirsi and myself both participated in Miss North Ontario this year as the only sisters!!!
I love the arts, like if there is word stronger than that tan change love to whatever it is and that’s what the arts mean to mean.
From the age of about 2 weeks, I have been on a stage somewhere or in front of a camera somewhere. Singing contests, dancing, modelling or live theatre. At the age of 5 I convinced our local theatre company to let me audition for Seausical the Musical and despite the age being 8 or older I won the role of Suzie lou who!!! I was hooked, I spent he next 6 years in every production Theatre Cambrian put on from Footloose, Annie, and Fame to adult performances of Miss Saigon.
During that time I discovered my love of dance. Since the age of 9 I have been a competitive dancer at “Let’s dance” in Chelmsford. I dance 4-5 nights a week for approx. 4-5 hours a night.
I hope to one day be a professional dancer, and perhaps have my own studio where I can foster other children’s love of dance!!
At the same time I continued to work on my singing. For years I had been on the stage singing with Cambrian Theatre, singing on stages and also competing in competitions across the province.
At the age of 11 I was asked to join a local all youth rock band. I was the youngest and the lead singer. Our band was called CDK and we ranged in age from 11-14, we wrote most of our own music and lyrics. Our band did many fundraisers, battle of bands and community festivals. In 2014 we won the Rock the Farm teen battle, winning $1000 and 8 hours recording time.
In addition to all of that, I have been modelling most of my life. I love the art of it and the artistic expression behind it. I have done many modelling and run way conceptions, Including print work, commercials and background movie work. In 2012 I won Faces of the North and received over $2000 worth of products and contracts.
I just love everything about the arts, music, and dance fill my soul. I believe they give me an outlet to express myself, increase my confidence, and it also allows for an avenue to meet new people and make new friends.
I am so looking forward to this competition and to meeting all of my fellow delegates from across the country!!
Opportunities like this need to be savoured and appreciated!!
Onaping Falls, We’ve been expecting you. Set in the picturesque setting of Northern Ontario, I am proud to be a Northern Girl from the small tri-town Onaping Falls. Onaping Falls is small Municipality encompassing the towns of Dowling, Levack and Onaping. Known for the AY Jackson lookout at the beautiful Onaping High Falls.
In summer this is an amazing place to go for hikes, or you can launch your tube at the bottom for a free lazy river ride, stretching over 10km’s. (made famous by my mom and her friends)
In the winter it is home of the best sliding hill in the city and a great training hill for avid new snow boarders. (also great for winter fires and smores)
My favourite season to visit though is autumn, where you can enjoy the Cavalcade of Colours!!! During the community festival we have art exhibits set up, baking and viewings of the falls in its painted wonder. You have never seen a more beautiful landscape than the red and orange fall leaves at our beautiful falls.
Did you know Onaping Falls was made famous by its Group of Seven painting of the beautiful river and its amazing falls.
I adore my community and all it has to offer, if you are nature lover or avid outdoors person you really need to come visit. We have amazing ATV trails, the best fishing in all of Ontario, cross country and downhill skiing, beautiful beaches, provincial parks and genuinely nice people.
Not to mention a legacy of great hockey players including Troy Mallette, and Dave Taylor.
If I could choose anywhere to call my home it would be Onaping Falls…. so when planning your next vacation consider us…after all We’ve been expecting you!!!
Hello everyone! It’s Tiffany, miss teen onaping falls here! I’m so excited as I got my sash and crown in today! They’re so nice! It’s sounds kind of cheesy but I’m so excited for MTC that I already started packing! And I made like a sanctuary for my pageant stuff ( jewelry, sashes, crowns, shoes, etc…). I’m seriously having pageant withdraws! Ever since MNO, I have a countdown set up on my phone and I tell all my friends how excited I am all the time! The only thing I’m not excited about is all the blisters on my feet, they’re going to be 10 times worse now because it’s a whole week! I thought I couldn’t do a weekend in my heels, but a week, omg!
Till next time, kisses!
